What It Can Do
--------------
Toolkit does two things.

1. It reenables file embedding for the Active Movie Control object, which is disabled by WMP9.

2. It reinstates the old Windows Media 6.4 and NetShow players, now hidden on your system by the WMP9 install.

File embedding:

In all cases you MUST reenable file embedding for the Active Movie Control object if you wish to send and receive Flash, EOT, or other specialized stationery.

Players:

Even though you reinstate players, certain pre-existing streaming player scripts may not work. It is strongly suggested that you work toward adopting the new generation player format and the required new streaming script techniques. Information is available in the Microsoft stationery newsgroups.

Disclaimer:

This software is provided "As Is". Use it at your own risk but at present, there seems to be very little risk. If you are unsure if you want to use this software then don't use it!

Recommended Settings
--------------------
For all of the following settings changes, you MUST stop/restart Outlook Express afterwards to effect the change.

File embedding:
Set to ENABLED FOR FILE EMBEDDING. Click DO IT if not already set.

Windows Media Player 6.4:
Set to WMP9 DEFAULT SETTING. Click DO IT if not already set.

NetShow Player:
Set to WMP9 DEFAULT SETTING. Click DO IT if not already set.

If you wish to view a stationery that requires a custom player or that specifically demands the Windows Media Player 6.4 or NetShow Player, reinstate the required player. Check REINSTATE PLAYER in the box, then click DO IT.

Requirements
------------
Windows Media Player 6.4, NetShow player, and the Active Movie Control object must have been installed on your system prior to your WMP9 install. The old ActiveX file for these three objects (msdxm.ocx) must be available in the same folder as the new WMP9 DLL (wmpdxm.dll). This should normally be the case. If not, make a copy of msdxm.ocx and save it to the same folder as wmpdxm.dll.

It would be a good idea to permanently save a copy of msdxm.ocx somewhere in a safe place on your hard drive.
