These files are used to allow these very nice filters to display in OE stationery since Windows ME came out.
These dlls are installed on new computers or after formatting the hard drive.
Follow the directions carefully.
Once the filters are successfully installed a window will appear that will confirm proper installation.

DXTMETA2 DLL
This file is required to run the MetaCreations DX Transforms. If you have lost the MetaCreations filters, download, unzip, and move the DXTMETA2.DLL file to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder (SYSTEM32 folder if running Windows 2000 or XP). When moved, you must register the file with the Windows registry. To do this, click on START|RUN and type:

             regsvr32 dxtmeta2.dll

into the box, then click OK. The text must be entered EXACTLY for this fix to work. You may find it helpful to copy this text line to the clipboard and paste it into the RUN box. The MetaCreations Transforms will now be viewable.

DXTMSFT3 Fix

Many if not most Windows users have experienced loss of certain IE filters after upgrading to Windows 2000 or XP. Here is a description of the problem and a fix to restore the filter set, which works in many cases. If you are running Windows 98 Second Edition DO NOT DO THIS INSTALL.

The problem:

Both clean installs and upgrades to Windows 2000 or XP result in the loss of these Windows 98 Second Edition filters:

DXTMSFT3 DLL
This file is required to reinstate the Windows 98 Second Edition Filters.

1. Download the DX3D Transform DLL below. This is the correct version of the DLL required to reinstall these filters.

2. Unzip the file.

3. Save the file to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder.

4. When saved, you must register the file with the Windows registry. To do this, click on START|RUN and type:

             regsvr32 dxtmsft3.dll

into the box, then click OK. The text must be entered EXACTLY for this fix to work. You may find it helpful to copy this text line to the clipboard and paste it into the RUN box. The above Windows 98 Second Edition filters will now be viewable.
